Homecare in Dubai took an important step forward when Etisalat, the UAE’s leading telecommunications company, and Enayati Home Healthcare signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to pilot an innovative patient home monitoring system.
The system was developed and manufactured by British health technology company Equivital. It uses body-worn sensors that measure several physiological parameters in real time while patients stay in the comfort of their own homes.
How Wearable Technology Is Changing Healthcare
Wearable and mobile health technologies are reducing healthcare costs and cutting down on frequent, inconvenient clinic visits. For patients and families, this means better quality of life and more time at home.
Etisalat’s nationwide mobile and fibre-optic broadband networks are opening the door to new e-health and mobile health solutions. These networks are helping healthcare systems across the UAE evolve and deliver care in new ways.
How the Remote Patient Monitoring Pilot Works
During the pilot, Enayati uses the Equivital platform, including the body-worn LifeMonitor sensor, to collect and manage large volumes of patient data. This includes both real-time readings and historical data, all gathered while the patient is at home.
The monitoring process works in three stages:
- The patient wears the sensor. The LifeMonitor tracks the patient’s physiological readings continuously.
- Nurses monitor changes. Enayati’s nurses can see changes in the patient’s condition as they happen.
- The clinical team is alerted instantly. Nurses can alert Enayati’s clinical team and the patient’s most responsible physician straight away, so the care plan can be adjusted without delay.
Benefits for Patients, Nurses, and Families
For patients
Patients receive closer clinical monitoring without leaving home. Early changes in their condition can be picked up and acted on sooner, which supports safer recovery and can help avoid unnecessary hospital visits.
For nurses and doctors
Real-time and historical data give Enayati’s home nursing team and doctors at home a clearer picture of each patient’s health. Decisions are based on continuous data, not just readings taken during a single visit.
For families
The system includes a dedicated family portal. Family members can check on the health status of their loved ones even when they are at work or travelling. This is especially reassuring for families caring for elderly parents or loved ones with dementia.
A Leader in Patient Safety for Homecare in Dubai
Enayati has positioned itself as a leader in homecare in Dubai, with patient safety at the centre of everything we do. Adopting remote patient monitoring technology is part of our commitment to delivering safer, smarter, and more responsive care at home.
By combining trained nurses, accessible doctors, and real-time health data, we help patients stay safely at home while their care team keeps a close eye on their progress.
